9月22日, 美國台中線上分處處長Mr. Matthew O'Connor就美國教育及文化為議題, 對台中第二高級中學裡具有高階英文程度的30位學生作一篇演講. 學生中包括一位來自日本的交換學生. Mr. O'Connor 的演講內容是針對美國的中學教育, 包括台灣與美國間高中教育的雷同和差異性. Mr. O'Connor 同時也鼓勵這些學生考慮在進入大學前或之後花一年的時間去海外讀書或工作. 演講結束後, Mr. O'Connor 回答學生們的提問, 包括 藍調音樂的普及性, 和美國的補習班文化.

On September 22, Taichung Virtual Branch Officer Matthew O'Connor gave a presentation on U.S. Education and Culture to 30 advanced students of English at Taichung Second Senior High School, including one exchange student from Japan. Mr. O’Connor's talk focused on U.S. secondary education, including the similarities and differences between high school in Taiwan and the United States. Mr. O'Connor also encouraged these students to consider taking a year off before or after college to study or work overseas. After the presentation, Mr. O'Connor answered questions on topics ranging from the popularity of blues music to the use of cram schools in the United States.
